Challenge: innovate to surprise in events

We were in the conference “Three trends in events that will change the way we meet” by Bo Krüger, Danish expert in design meeting and group psychology. Krüger explained in a very agile way that gamification, co-creation and offline meetings will be the main triangle of the 2018 company events.

Gamification is a well-known technique, very efficient and it is becoming increasingly popular in corporate events. Playing and learning brings interaction and relaxation to the participants, using recreational activities to enrich and reinforce the work teams.

Co-creation reinforces creativity, responsiveness and, like gamification, teamwork.

The “offline” meetings call to disconnect from technology for a few moments and enjoy something as simple as a “Walk and talk”, noting that a simple conversation during a walk increases creativity by 60%.

In the baSEment Barcelona we are aware of these new trends and we offer these activities in our unique event space.

Barcelona and the trends for 2018

According to the latest report of American Express Meeting & Events, London, Barcelona and Berlin are positioned as the three best-priced destinations in Europe for corporate events. The criterion set by the Americans took into account the infrastructure, the tourist attractions, the hotel offer and the quality of innovation at the city level.

For trends in the choice of tourist destinations at the business level of 2018, the American Express study estimated that companies will seek security and proximity in the choice of place, in addition to experience, creativity and well-being.

New Technologies and Sustainability

Thorben Grosser of EventMobi, told us in his lecture “The change of the game in MICE technologies for your event” how technologies have changed the way we see things, either in our personal lives or at work. EventMobi is a web and mobile application that brings together all these values to simplify the experience in planning events, which includes interaction with guests in real time.

Mio is a cute robot, in the style of BB8 Star Wars, who travels the railway stations of Switzerland offering snacks to passengers. This is just one option of what this drone can deliver, since it can be an ally for the brands in their events.

These are examples of technologies that aim to solve the planning and engagement of the audience, combining management and entertaining innovation to give more light to corporate events.

In conclusion, a complete fair, open to new times, with the opportunity to create new contact networks and learn about the new trends of the MICE sector, in a city like Barcelona, which always houses elegance and modernity. We hope to attend the 2018 edition of this important meeting in the world of events.
