The baSEment is characterized by being a multipurpose venue which by its disposition, stimulates the open communication between the attendees in their events. Gathering neuroscience scientists, experts and disseminators to share their knowledge was a challenge for us. And we had to go through with note!
Pere Estupinyà (Tortosa, 1974), author of the books of scientific divulgation El ladrón de cerebros (Debate, 2010), S=EX2y La ciencia del sexo (Debate, 2013), chose The baSEment to present from the hand of Ara llibres his last book El ladrón de Cerebros, Comer cerezas con los ojos cerrados (Debate, 2016).
With an attendance of more than 100 people, the host of “El cazador de cerebros” (La 2) together with all his team, made us part of his concern about the lack of resources in research and development in Spain and also his hope to the great advances that are being made thanks to the quality of scientists, doctors and disseminators like him.
When we asked about our facilities, he did not hesitate for a second:
– What did you think of the facilities of The baSEment?
The facilities at The baSEment seemed fabulous to me. It is a cozy, versatile space, decorated with exquisite taste, very well equipped for audio and sound projections, and which generates a warm atmosphere for dialogue and interaction between people.
– How was the attention you got from The baSEment team?
Perfect in both professional and personal. Very efficient, attentive to details and able to make everyone feel comfortable.
– Do you think that the format used for the “Fiesta de la Ciencia” event is conducive to presentations of this type?
Absolutely. For book presentations, ideal, because it generates intimacy and encourages a very close dialogue
– How did you feel about being in The BaSEment?
Impressed at first to see how beautiful the space was, and super-comfortable after.
